The Highlands has a very vibrant music scene these days, the most interesting aspect of which is the increasing tendency of musicians to cross-over between previously separated genres, such as classical, jazz, blues, rock, and folk or traditional. These categories remain however a useful way to divide the music scene up so as to make any sort of information comprehensible; though there is far too much going on over such a large area for any one website - let alone one primarily historical and genealogical in content - to attempt any sort of comprehensive guide to music in the Highlands. What follows therefore will be mostly a list of websites dealing with the various genres of music, and with listings for musical events of all sorts - but with a few links to the websites of particular performers (some more notable than others!).
